The Orange County Citizens Foundation will host a breakfast forum at its headquarters in Sugar Loaf on Wednesday, July 1st featuring MetroNorth Railroad President Howard Permut. The topic will be MetroNorth initiatives and service in the region.
This meeting is part of an ongoing forum series that the Citizens Foundation presents to help residents and businesses plan for changes within our communities.
Howard Permut has been President of MTA Metro-North Railroad since July 2008. He is only the 4th President in the railroad’s history and was part of the original team that created Metro-North out of the Conrail commuter operations in New York and Connecticut in 1983. A native New Yorker, Mr. Permut has been at the forefront of MNR’s vision to expand service and ridership – both East and West of the Hudson River – since its inception.
Prior to his current role as President, Mr. Permut was the Senior Vice President of Planning, Procurement and Business Development. Before joining MTA/Metro-North, Mr. Permut worked at the Northeastern Illinois RTA during its formative years and the CTA. He is a visiting scholar at New York University and has worked for a number of major transit agencies in London, Santo Domingo, Philadelphia, San Francisco and Los Angeles. He has served on various TCRP Research and APTA panels. He has taught the NTI Senior Leadership Course and has lectured at NYU, University of Pennsylvania, Northwestern, CUNY and Brooklyn Polytechnic Institute.
The breakfast forum will be held at the Citizens Foundation’s headquarters at the Seligmann Homestead, 23 White Oak Drive in Sugar Loaf, at 8:00 AM (7:45 registration and breakfast) on July 1st. Sloan Publishing is sponsoring the event. |
